There was this time when my girlfriend always told stories from the book Dark Lord of Derkholm, I really don’t have any idea about the book, but was quite fascinated when she described the griffins, and all those other weird animals in it. I decided to make some fan art and this is what I came up with (to color soon,I wish).
A summation of some of DWJ’s best — including Dogsbody and Fire and Hemock, of course!.
“She creates lovely, inventive worlds, spins plots that are so dizzyingly complex that they make your head spin – except that they’re not hard at all to follow.”
“Jones created complex worlds with a light touch. And she did it with an affection for her characters that transfers well to the reader.”
A blogger’s tribute to her top five DWJ books — some surprising choices!
“Hilarity, emotion, romance…this book has it all (which can pretty much be said about every book she’s ever written).”
An excellent overview of Diana’s “series” books (excluding Dalemark).
“Jones very rarely writes straight up sequels, follow-ups are more like tangents.”
An interview done in conjunction with Greenwillow’s publication of Year of the Griffin. (The last line will be familiar to you.)
“I don’t write for anyone particularly. I find if I have a specific person in mind, it makes me too self-conscious to write — and the same goes for a larger audience.”
